LSLiDAR 3D SLAM Unmanned Forklift: How LiDAR Creates Comprehensive 3D Safety Protection

In today’s rapidly advancing technological landscape, autonomous driving technology is not only revolutionizing the automotive industry but also demonstrating immense potential in industrial logistics, particularly in unmanned forklifts.

On February 20, the Huawei Zunjie S800 technology launch conference was held in Shenzhen. This new vehicle, aimed at L3-level autonomous driving, garnered significant attention with its “Omnidirectional 3D Fusion Perception System” consisting of 32 sensors.

Similarly, in the industrial logistics sector, LSLiDAR’s 3D SLAM unmanned forklift has adopted a collaborative system of 7 different types of LiDAR, creating a 360° comprehensive 3D safety protection, setting a benchmark for operational safety.

The “Smart Eye” for Mapping, Navigation, and Full-Spectrum Obstacle Avoidance

At the top of LSLiDAR’s 3D SLAM unmanned forklift sits a 16-line LiDAR, functioning as its “smart eye” responsible for mapping, navigation, and real-time obstacle avoidance. This LiDAR precisely perceives the surrounding environment, enabling the forklift to construct detailed maps and plan optimal driving routes.

In complex industrial environments—whether navigating narrow aisles, dense cargo stacks, or challenging outdoor terrains—this LiDAR guides the forklift efficiently and safely. During movement, it continuously monitors road conditions and reacts immediately when obstacles are detected, adjusting the route or stopping to prevent collisions.

The “Super Guardian” for Front Obstacle Detection

To enhance front and side obstacle detection, LSLiDAR has equipped the unmanned forklift with a CH32R ultra-wide-angle blind-spot detection LiDAR, offering a 360° × 89° detection range. Acting as a “super guardian”, this sensor covers a vast field of view, ensuring that no obstacles—whether large equipment or sudden small objects—escape its detection.

During operation, it continuously scans the forklift’s path, effectively eliminating blind spots not covered by the C16 LiDAR, providing a crucial safety enhancement for smooth and secure driving.

The “Attentive Guardian” for Low-Position Front and Side Obstacle Detection

To further enhance obstacle detection at low positions in front and on the sides, LSLiDAR has installed two M10 single-line LiDAR sensors at the bottom of the unmanned forklift. These sensors act as “attentive guardians”, with a 360° horizontal detection range focused on identifying low-position obstacles.

During cargo transport and movement, they promptly detect objects or protrusions on the ground, preventing forklift damage caused by collisions with low-position obstacles, ensuring smooth and safe operation.

The “Precision Assistant” for Pallet Recognition and Unloaded Obstacle Detection

Accurate pallet detection and obstacle identification in an unloaded state are crucial for seamless logistics operations. LSLiDAR’s 128-line hybrid solid-state LiDAR serves as a “precision assistant”, leveraging its high-precision detection capabilities to accurately identify pallet positions and conditions.

This ensures precise cargo pickup and placement, while also detecting obstacles during empty-load travel, providing an additional safety layer for the forklift’s operations.

The “Safety Pioneer” for Fork Tip Protection

The fork tip is one of the most vulnerable parts of an unmanned forklift, frequently exposed to collision risks during operations. To enhance its protection, LSLiDAR has installed two single-line LiDAR sensors at the fork tip.

These sensors function as “safety pioneers”, continuously monitoring the surroundings. Upon detecting any potential collision risks, they immediately trigger alerts and precautionary actions, ensuring both the fork tip and cargo remain undamaged.

Safety is the lifeline of industrial operations. Any safety incident can lead to injuries, equipment damage, and production delays, resulting in substantial financial losses and reputational impact on businesses.

As a crucial component in industrial logistics, unmanned forklifts must operate safely to maintain stable and efficient workflows. LSLiDAR’s 3D SLAM unmanned forklift, with its 7 LiDAR sensors working in unison, significantly reduces the risk of accidents. This not only protects employee safety and minimizes costs associated with safety incidents but also boosts operational efficiency and enhances overall corporate competitiveness.

By utilizing LiDAR-driven 3D safety protection, LSLiDAR’s 3D SLAM unmanned forklift ensures secure industrial operations while accelerating the intelligent transformation of the industrial sector.

Looking ahead, LSLiDAR remains committed to innovation, delivering safer and more efficient solutions for the industrial automation landscape.
